We all enjoy good food. But our clients from The Bitery take food appreciation to a whole new level. As they like to say, food is exciting, fun, and lights up all our senses.
The Bitery stands for great food that nourishes both the body and soul. Comfort food for real people living real, everyday lives. Their philosophy teaches us to enjoy delicious and healthy food on all occasions, even with a crazy work-life schedule.
We were thrilled with the opportunity to cook up a site that will help them share their magical recipes and love of food with the world.
Our enthusiasm for this project was also partially fueled by the mouthwatering images of recipes made by The Bitery.
The goal was clear – create a site that will capture the essence and vision of The Bitery. Our starting point was the idea of a virtual place made to gather and connect food lovers.
The visual requirements included looking good enough to eat, while the functionalities needed to include things that will make life in the kitchen easier and more fun for foodies.
A wide array of recipes available upon subscription, with adjustable quantities for each recipe sounded like a good place to start.

We started with the concept and a colorful, cozy design that emphasizes the visual aspect of what’s most important – the food. Next came the functionalities; a base of various recipes available upon subscription, custom filters for said recipe base (ingredients, seasons, dietary restrictions), and a custom calculator that enables users to adjust recipes to their needs. Choose the number of servings you want to cook and voilà – the recipe tells you exactly how much of everything you need. The subscription also allows users to create a list of favorites and generate grocery lists according to the recipes. A sneak peek into the future – there is also a yummy webshop in the making!
This was a fun project to work on. The clients are very proactive and have great ideas. There is lots more potential here, and I’m looking forward to the new features we will get to implement and make The Bitery even better. The only “downside” were the visuals that constantly made me hungry. 😀
