- Three-role platform running a live insurance book through a phased migration
The Problem
PV SECURE administers insurance contracts for photovoltaic installations across the DACH region, between three parties: private and business clients, installation partners, and internal administrators. The platform is the operational spine of the business. Contracts, fee adjustments, claims, invoicing, commissions and partner billing all live in it.
The old application could not carry where the business was going. It could not be switched off either. Live contracts, live invoicing, live claims. That shaped the whole engagement: build the replacement, keep the old system running and patched, and move the book across without an interruption anyone outside notices.

The Build
The new platform runs three separately themed interfaces, one per role, on a shared domain model.
- Admin backend, partner portal for creating and managing contracts, client interface for viewing contracts and reporting damage
- Contract administration: creation, changes, fees, coverage tracking, documents
- Financial operations: invoicing, payments, commissions, partner billing
- PV system management: components, technical specifications, damage reports and claims
- Full German localisation
- Links between the old and new system, so staff working in one see relevant changes in the other during migration
- Separate staging environment for acceptance testing before every release
How We Run It
Releases ship on a versioned cadence with written release notes. Every item is tested and signed off before it reaches production. Issues reported by the client come in through a service desk and land on the same board as planned development, so fixes and roadmap work share one queue and one set of priorities.
This is the harder half of the job. Anyone can build a new application. Running two systems in parallel through a long migration, keeping both correct while contracts and money move between them, is where projects like this usually fail.
The engagement also covers the corporate website and adjacent product lines built on the same platform.
